Brendan decided that he wanted to try machine pitch baseball this year. I guess if you are a Humphries you are supposed to like baseball. We do...as long as we know someone who is playing the game! However after watching 18, 7-9 year old boys run around like chickens with their heads cut off, we decided it really can be entertaining! He loved playing and learning a new sport. He wasn't the best player on the team, but he learn a lot and wants to do it again next year. I guess having fun is all the really matters!
They didn't really need a catcher, but he had a the stance down and at least he looked like he knew what he was doing!
Batting was new for him too. He did pretty good though. We told him we would give him a dollar for every time he hit the ball. By the time the season was over we owed him about $20!
He usually made it to 1st off his own hit, but his idea of a home run was making it around to all the bases and then home again no matter how many guys hit after you did!
